Step Frame Flat Trailer

Step Frame trailers are specifically designed to tackle the challenges of transporting tall and bulky cargo, such as prefabricated structures and modular components. Their distinctive design features a lower deck height at the front, positioned below the height of the tractor unit’s fifth wheel, with a raised section at the rear. This design creates a shallow incline at the front, allowing vehicles to drive onto the trailer more easily.

The Step Frame trailer is sometimes referred to as a drop frame trailer. Other common names include hay and straw trailer, swan’s neck trailer, step trailer, and semi-trailer.
